Mr. Michael, a Nigerian patient, visited our OPD with complaints of progressive, painless vision loss in both eyes. This debilitating condition posed a significant challenge for him. Fortunately, upon consulting with our esteemed Chief Neurosurgeon, Dr. Aditya Gupta, at Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon, a specialized MRI with contrast was advised to determine the location and develop a treatment plan.
After completing the recommended investigations, Mr. Michael was diagnosed with olfactory groove meningioma. He was thoroughly counselled about the surgical procedure and its outcomes.
After receiving pre – anaesthesia clearance, Mr. Michael underwent a successful 3-hour surgical procedure, which saved his life from the threat of olfactory groove meningioma. Remarkably, he was able to converse with attendants in the ICU on the same day of surgery.
His hospitalization period was crucial for close monitoring and care under the expert supervision of our neurosurgery team. With each passing day, Mr. Michael made steady progress toward recovery. He was eventually discharged from the hospital in a stable condition.
Following discharge, Mr. Michael attended our OPD for daily dressing and suture removal. Once his wounds had healed, he returned to his home country.
We are overjoyed with Mr. Michael’s successful recovery and are grateful to have played a role in restoring his health. His story serves as a beacon of hope for patients facing similar challenges, inspiring them to seek treatment with courage and confidence.
As medical professionals, it’s always rewarding to see our patients recover and return to their normal lives. Mr. Michael’s progress was also a source of inspiration during our morning rounds, and we are thrilled to have been a part of his journey toward wellness.
